Mitchell's 15 year old friend Angela passed away in a fatal accident in a car. Mitchell had a very difficult experience with the loss, and Angela is the reason for Mitchell's song Angel in Mitchell's debut album. The song was featured on the 7th Heaven Episode Nothing Endures But Change and in Chicken Soup for Preteen Soul she also talked about the experience.
